1st Annual Captain Sean Whiten Fire Safety Day
On Thursday June 18, 2009 The Charleroi Area School District and TEAM Charleroi Co-Sponsored the "1st Annual Captain Sean Whiten Fire Safety Day". Several area Fire Departments along with area Police, EMS,The Twin Rivers Rescue Team and the County Hazmat apparatus attended the day long event. Afternoon events included Blood Pressure Screenings, Life Flight Landing, Drug Dog Demonstration, along with the apparatus display. The evening events opened up with a Memorial Service with key speaker Chaplin Wayne Ray. The competitions between fire personal included (Lock #4, Charleroi, Fallowfield, Roscoe, and Allenport) which included the Bucket Brigade, Dummy Drag, Tug of War, and the Initial Attack. The events were not only fun to participate in, but also amusing to watch. The following are the results of the competitions:

Following the competitions the 1st and 2nd Place Companies were announced for each event. The 1st Place winner of each event received a plaque, with had a picture of Captain Sean Whiten and a firefighter prayer. The Lock #4 VFC were the overall competitions winner and received the traveling trophy from the Whiten Family. Each year the trophy will be passed on to the overall winner of the days events. Overall we all couldn't remember the last time we had so much fun and a good time together. We will look forward to next year not only to defend the trophy, but remember a fallen Hero.
