School and Daycare Visits

 The members have been busy visiting the local schools in the District as well as McFaddin's Day Care in North Charleroi.

On Thursday October 9th, the Chief and Lieutenant Tim Marsich participated in the annual fire prevention at the Charleroi Area School Campus along with members from Fallowfield (47) and Charleroi(33). The morning brought the fire drill for the High School and Middle School students and after a healthy school lunch the apparatus was moved to the front of the Elementary Center for students in Grades K-3 to inspect. Afterwards, the Elementary Center pulled the alarm for their annual drill as well.

On Tuesday October 14th, the Chief, Assistant Chiefs Bill Castner and Fred Schwalb, and Lieutenant Marsich paid a special afterschool visit to the children of McFaddin's Daycare in Lower Lock Four. The children were instructed on many Fire PRevention topics by Chief Castner, and shown that a fully equipped firefighter is their to help by Chief Schwalb. After the brief lecture, the children were able to sit in the Engine and afterwards, posed for a few photos for Mom and Dad.
